I was so excited to win HHDD #4 and have the honor of hosting the next one. After I posted my tart recipe and the theme and guidelines for HHDD, there was hardly any response. I was crushed. Then, all of a sudden... WHAMMO! The floodgates opened and the entries started pouring in. When it was all said and done, there were 22 people who joined in the fun of Donna Day (23 if you include me!). Good gravy, people!! You've truly outdone yourselves this time. Thanks to everyone for participating. Without further ado, let's start the show!
Dolores at Chronicles in Culinary Curiosity gets us started with her too-funny tale of kitchen appliance woe and her recipe for Sassy Savory Tartlettes.
Alice at Alice Q. Foodie combines three of my favorite ingredients in her Mini Pesto Polenta Tartlets
Cin over at A Few of My Favourite Things made the perfect picnic food - Alsatian Onion Tart. It's also got bacon in it, so you know it has to be delish!
JenJen of Milk and Cookies manages to pull herself away from her new love and shares her incredible sounding Three Olive Tart.
Anita over at Married...with Dinner turns her love of Caprese salad into a fabulous Caprese Tart.
Sam from Becks & Posh puts a spin on her savoury tart recipe (and shows much dedication to participating in this event!) with her Donna Hay Inspired Breakfast Tart.
Mary K at Alpineberry shares her Goat Cheese, Roasted Beet and Walnut Tart - one of my favorite flavor combinations!
I-ling at Feed Me! I'm Hungry! makes not one but three flavor combinations in her yummy looking Mini Savoury Tarts Three Ways

Haalo at Cook (Almost) Anything At Least Once turned her favorite pizza combo into a fabulous photo and a Potato and Onion Tart
Stephanie at Dispensing Happiness didn't stray far from her bite sized instincts with her FIVE delicious Cheese Tarts Five Ways.
Brilynn at Jumbo Empanadas was way too hard on herself over her fantastic sounding Shrimp and Scallop Tart.
Bea over at La Tartine Gourmande displays her oh-so-appetizing Cherry Tomato Tart in yet another stunning photograph.
Lara at Cookbook 411 incorporates a Donna Hay pastry crust recipe in her divine Wakey Wakey Eggs & Bakey, which can only be described as food porn.
Johanna at The Passionate Cook tops an amazing tart with pig product (which always scores bonus points as far as I'm concerned) with her Wild Mushroom & Thyme Tart with San Daniele Ham.
Our gracious host of the last HHDD, Bron of Bron Marshall, shares a sweet take on a savoury tart with this Caramelized Onion, Fig, and Goat Cheese Tart.
Ximena at Lobstersquad draws her own delicious take on a Roast Tomato Tarte Tatin
The creator of Donna Day, Barbara at Winos and Foodies, tries her hand at yummy Asparagus Tarts.
Shelley at S'kat and the Food, another first time Donna Day-er, shares her colorful tribute to summer with a Summer's End Tart.
Peabody at Culinary Concoctions by Peabody also shares a sweet twist on savoury with Caramelized Apple, Onion and Roquefort Tart.
Emma over at The Laughing Gastronome freestyles it with this yummy, garlicky Mushroom and Aubergine Tart.
Last, but certainly not least, Paul from EatNZ uses his creativity in a new twist on savoury tarts with his Basil, Feta and Semi Dried Tomato Tart in Potato Rosti.
Now for the fun part: The voting!
Voting will take place between September 22nd and September 29th. That gives everyone a week to decide which savoury tart recipe is their favorite. Please send me an email with your favorite HHDD post to [email protected] no later than September 29th. I will post the name of the winner and their prize - and pass the Donna Day torch- on September 30th!
